World Blood Donor Day 2025 : SOPECAM Employees Sensitized

The National Blood Transfusion Service conducted a sensitization campaign on blood donation at the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM), on April 28, 2025.

In prelude to the World Blood Donor Day observed every June 14, 2025 officials from the National Blood Transfusion Service carried out a door-to-door sensitization campaign to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation at the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM). With the need of approximately 4,000 blood bags annually in the country, the health workers emphasized the critical role of blood donation in saving lives. They also encouraged employees to register through the National Blood Transfusion Service, which is the only blood donation organ in Cameroon.
Established in 2003, the National Blood Transfusion Service became operational in 2019 following a Presidential decree that outlined its organizational and operational principles. Since then, it has been working to address the blood shortage that has left some patients in critical conditions.
