Unity Palace : Relishing Living Together!

The reception given Cameroonians by President Paul Biya and wife last evening after the march-past allowed the leader to closely commune with his people and friends of the country.


The Banquet Hall and adjacent garden of the Unity Palace were last evening transformed into theatres of national fraternity as thousands of selected Cameroonians and friends of the country honoured the invitation of their leader and wife, Paul and Chantal Biya. The reception the Presidential couple offered after the colourful march-past at the 20th May Boulevard, gave the attendees the privileged opportunity to meet closely and commune with their leader. 
Beyond food and drinks, which were in abundance and depicted Cameroon’s diversity and richness, the guests of the Head of State and wife used the State House reception to meet each other, chat and why not take rendezvous for deeper ties thereafter that could further solidify living together. This is the essence of the celebration by a people with their leader of the path covered thus far in the 53 years of national unity. A moment as well to fraternally seek ways of ironing out existing differences so that the much-trumpeted harmony could be flawless.  
Visibly, there was neither Anglophone nor Francophone at Unity Palace last evening. It was a feast for Cameroonians irrespective of race, language and even political inclination. And the beautiful decoration; the red carpet rolled outs in both the Banquet Hall and the Garden as well as the water fountain that was fully set in motion, gave the Head of State’s guests the delight needed in such ceremonies. The ecstasy on their faces spoke volumes. Relishing togetherness!
