Colombe and Aigle de la Menoua, Elite One and Two champions, legendary clubs such as Union relegated, problems with refereeing, infrastructure, wages, etc.
The MTN Elite championship has come and gone. Colombe of the Dja and Lobo were crowned champions on Sunday July 6, 2025 in Douala after they lost (0-1) to Panthere of Nde during the day 30 match of the national First Division Championship. The day equally marked the end of the 2025 football season in Cameroon. Colombe of Dja and Lobo won the national championship for the first time in 72 years of existence. It was their second title after they won the Cameroon Cup last season.
At the end of the championship, Colombe of Dja and Lobo finished on top of the table with 55 points; seven points ahead of runners up, Panthere of Ndé and nine points ahead of third placed Gazelle of Garoua. Two teams have been promoted to the MTN Elite One championship. They are Aigle Royal of Menoua and Unisport of Bafang. Four teams have been relegated to the MTN Elite One championship. The teams are Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, Union sportive of Douala, Astres of Douala and Bamboutos of Mbouda.
The 2024-2025 MTN Elite two season saw a return to a single pool after several seasons with two pools. The aim of this new format, which brings together the 16 teams in a single pool, is to make the competition more dynamic and offer the public more attractive matches.
