The Embassy of Cameroon in Washington, D.C. was on July 8, 2025, the stage for a pivotal gathering of Francophone Ambassadors, united by a shared mission of advancing the French language and Francophone cultural values across diplomatic circles and the public in the United States of America. Presided over by Tunisia’s Ambassador to the U.S., H.E Tajouri Bessassi, the meeting marked the conclusion of her tenure as Chair of “Le Groupe des Ambassadeurs Francophones” in Washington D.C.”.
Diplomats took the moment to reflect on recent achievements, especially the vibrant celebration of the International Day of La Francophonie in Washington D.C. They also assessed challenges faced in fostering deeper cultural connections in a diverse diplomatic landscape. “I deeply thank each Ambassador for their tireless efforts. Together, we have made remarkable strides in promoting our language and heritage." Ambassador Tajouri noted. She also used the occasion to extend warm appreciation to Cameroon’s Ambassador to the U.S., H.E. Henri Etoundi Essomba, whose hospitality left a remarkable impression.
