Carnet Diplomatique : Throne Day Celebrated In Yaounde

During the brief ceremony on Wednesday, H.E Jalal El Khamlichi hailed the existing bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and Morocco.

The Yaounde Hilton Hotel in Yaounde was the venue par excellence for the celebration of the Throne Day and the 26th Anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco’s ascension to the throne. Each year, July 30, is a day of national unity and reflection on the achievements accomplished thanks to the farsighted royal guidance that has led to successful economic, political and institutional reforms, making the country an inspirational model for others to follow. Morocco’s GDP jumped from $46 billion in 1999 to $150 billion in 2024 driven by 4 pc annual growth rate over the past 2000-2023 period and diversification of the economy which has shifted focus from agriculture to manufacturing and service while keeping inflation under control.
Wednesday’s reception offered by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Yaounde, was an opportunity for H.E Jalal El Khamlichi, Morocco’s Chargé d’Affaires in Cameroon to salute the 60-year-old excellent relations between Cameroon and the Kingdom of Morocco. Flanked by the Inspector General at the Ministry of External Relations in Charge of Consular Affairs, Stanislas Oyono, who represented the Minister of External Relations, members of government and diplomatic corps, H.E Jalal El Khamlichi said, “The numerous exchange visits and accords signed by both countries are testimonies of the excellent bilateral relations”. He added that, “This cooperation is manifested by the presence of Moroccan companies that operate in the banking, cement, transport, building, sale of vehicles and insurance sectors.
