Bamboutos Division : CERAC’s Caravan Brings Relief

Cameroon's First Lady, Chantal Biya, has reaffirmed her commitment to people of the West Region, particularly those in the Bamboutos Division. On Friday, August 8, 2025, at Bangang village, the First Lady's humanitarian organization, the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), officially handed over a renovated and equipped Ngueamatio Bilingual School Complex. CERAC also distributed gifts to rural women, youth, and internally displaced persons in the locality, further showcasing its dedication to supporting vulnerable populations. The First Lady’s representative at the event, Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoa, Minister of Women's Empowerment and the Family, who also serves as Vice President of the College of Counselors of CERAC did not only present special gifts to the people of Bamboutos, but also conveyed a message emphasizing gratitude, love, solidarity, and national development, reflecting the First Lady's commitment to the well-being of all Cameroonians.
After 54 years of existence, the Ngueamatio School Complex had fallen into disrepair, posing risks to education quality and local development. Minister Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoa emphasized the need for improvement, citing the State's 2020-2030 development strategy. Thanks to CERAC's efforts, the school has been transformed into a model of excellence, ushering in a new era for students and staff. Under the First Lady's initiative, CERAC also undertook the construction of the access road to the school, prioritizing education access. “The organization's efforts are driven by altruism and solidarity, rather than political gain”, the First Lady’s envoy underscored.
