Holiday Workshop : CFTA Produces Enlightened Kids

Via presentations at the closing ceremony of the first edition of “C.F.T.A.-Sports et Loisirs" on August 8, 2025 in Yaounde, the children showed mastery of what they had learned.

The first edition of the "C.F.T.A.-Sports et Loisirs" holiday workshop concluded on August 8, 2025 at the Technical Training Centre of Armed Forces better known by its French acronym CFTA. The closing ceremony was chaired by the Commander of the Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Liboire Ohandja. The ceremony was elaborate, featuring several captivating presentations by the children who participated in the holiday workshop. 
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a presentation on the significance of the colours of the Cameroonian flag. A five-year-old boy, Christ Ngoufack, introduced himself to the audience as a colonel, complete with a perfectly fitted military uniform and epaulets. Though his rank was purely for the presentation, his confidence and charming delivery captivated the audience and brought smiles to the faces of military officials and parents alike.
The holiday workshop which began on June 16, 2025 was highly sought after. Organizers had anticipated around 50 participants, but the programme ultimately welcomed 176 children. "We were expecting about 50 children because it is the first edition. But to our greatest surprise, the turnout was huge." said Lieutenant Elvis Ndoumbe, the Bureau Chief of Sports, Cultural and Artistic Activities at CFTA. 
Throughout the workshop, children received training in civic and moral education, as well as the fundamentals of various sports disciplines like football, basketball, athletics etc. The closing ceremony served ...
