Secondary Education : 2025-2026 Academic Year Launched

As the world evolves, it is clear that education is no longer bound by traditional systems. Theorists agree that a revolution is underway, and it is happening now, with artificial intelligence (AI) serving as a powerful facilitation tool. It is within this backdrop that, the Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga, officially opened the 2025-2026 academic year in the Secondary Education sector yesterday August 19, 2025, in Yaounde. The school year has been put under the theme, “Safety, Health, and Learning in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).” 
The occasion allowed Minister Nalova Lyonga to express her sincere appreciation to the educational community for their remarkable resilience and determination, despite challenges. “I firmly believe that our innovative approaches, harnessing AI and distance learning tools, have empowered students to excel,” the Minister emphasized. The Minister also commended the marked improvements across all public examinations administered by the Ministry. Looking ahead to the 2025-2026 academic year, the Ministry of Secondary Education is set to launch innovative initiatives, including the integration of digital boards in various classrooms and the establishment of a digitally equipped classroom in each school. The Ministry will also introduce intelligent classrooms, where computer-embedded desks will facilitate seamless technology-based learning. Although this transition may pose challenges, Minister Nalova Lyonga is optimistic that it will yield rewarding outcomes for all stakeholders.
