North West: Farmers Showcase Strength In Agropastoral Production

Farmers and grazers of Fundong municipality encouraged to co-exist in efforts to enhance production, productivity.
The 2017 edition of the Agro-pastoral show organized by the Fundong municipality, Boyo Division gave farmers and grazers a moment to showcase savoir faire in the production of some traditional and commercial crops and animals that inspire hope for the economy of the municipality.
In effect, the event on December 17, 2017 in Fundong featured huge tons of Irish potatoes, beans, maize, vegetables, plantains, chickens, cows, goats, sheep etc.
It was a day for the who is who in the farming community. It was all about the exhibition of the best agro-pastoral produce for competition towards the Regional Agro pastoral show that later assembled the best in Bamenda on December 21-23, 2017.
It was against this backdrop that Boyo SDO, Tegni Fidele told the crop and livestock farmers who filed out for the exhibition about the government’s preparedness to continue to stand by them with funding for agro-pastoral shows that promotes sustainable rural development for the meaningful improvement of living standards.
He stressed the role of Agro-pastoral shows in sizing up the contribution of rural masses in the areas of food production, food security and food self sufficiency.
