Indomitable Lions : Marc Brys-FECAFOOT Meeting At Last!

A closed-door working session held yesterday May 13, 2024 in Yaounde after which the federation published the pre-selected list of the new head coach with no changes.
The new head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Marc Brys has finally met with officials of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) since his appointment in April. This was during a closed-door working-session chaired by the Secretary General of the Federation, Blaise Djounang yesterday May 13, 2024 at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaounde. The gaffer was convened for this meeting via a letter which made waves on social media over the weekend. Questions on whether he would honour the invitation or not after missing out on the first, had come up on several platforms.
Away from social media, the reality dawned on all Cameroonians as the gaffer effectively came for the 9 a.m. meeting. He arrived accompanied by his assistant, Joachim Mununga and Technical Adviser Number 2 to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Cyrille Tollo. He looked serene and confident, ready to take his responsibilities. The press that had come early to witness the event was kept outside for the meeting held in closed-doors. The stakeholders met for over 30 minutes; time not too short to chart a way forward for the senior national team that has been caught in a detrimental conflict.
At the end of the meeting, a host of individuals came out and posed for posterity. Nothing concrete filtered out of the meeting immediately as all attempts to get a few words from the new gaffer ended futile. With much persistence, the press succeeded to squeeze something from the Technical Adviser Number 2 to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, who stressed on the fact that the trainer came to work with the federation on his pre-selected list.
The Federation later made public a communique stating that the meeting which took place in a convivial atmosphere “allowed for the establishment of professional contacts and a number of important reminders regarding the procedures for calling up players for the national team”.
