State House School : First Lady Celebrates Academic Excellence

The “Les Coccinelles” School Complex of the Unity Palace, founded and patronised by First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya, celebrated the end of the 2024-2025 academic year yesterday, June 25, 2025. The academic year registered a 100 per cent success rate in all the classes. The ceremony, which marked the school's 25th anniversary, featured performances, results proclamations, prize awards and merrymaking. It was attended by government ministers, special guests and parents.

The decorative nature of the environment within the “Les Coccinelles” School Complex revealed that there was celebration in the air. With the arrival of the matron of the school, Mrs Chantal Biya, the feast began at about 2:00 p.m. It was a feast to celebrate academic excellence. At the entrance into the school premises, the First Lady was received by the Minister of Basic Education, Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, alongside other members of government, dignitaries and school authorities. The singing of the national anthem and a welcome song from the pupils kick-started the event, which lasted over three hours. The event unfolded with a welcome song by the pupils, setting a patriotic and joyful tone. In a welcome address, the Head Teacher of the school, Guillaume Mpouenanga, said the end of the school year is the right moment to draw up a clear balance sheet concerning academic activities, as tradition holds in the school. In this regard, he presented the impressive performance of pupils for the 2024- 2025 school year. The 19 pupils in class two were all promoted to class three with a general average of 16.79/20. The 21 students in class three were also promoted to the next class with a general average of 19.06/20. All the 17 pupils in class four were promoted to class five with a general average of 14.28/20.
