Carnet Diplomatique : US Independence Day Celebrated In Pomp

During the July 3, 2025 event in Yaounde, Ambassador Christopher Lamora commended Cameroon for its strong leadership in countering terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin.
The esplanade of the United States Embassy in Yaounde was a place to be last Thursday July, 3, 2025. The event was the celebration of the 249th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America. From the entrance, the decor signaled the magnitude of the event. To set the ball rolling, the entire US embassy staff charmingly welcomed every guest into the ceremonial ground. Flanked be the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu and other members of government, the United States Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Christopher Lamora said, “This isn’t just a birthday party for the United States. It’s a celebration of freedom, friendship, shared values, and common purpose. We know that friendship, including our friendship with Cameroon, isn’t one-way street. We learn from each other. We grow together. We laugh together. We strive together…”, he reiterated.
He saluted the excellent relations between Cameroon and United States especially in the domain of security by reiterating that; “The United States remains committed to working with government as well as the people of Cameroon in areas of shared interest, and we commend Cameroon for its strong leadership in countering terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin and strengthening maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea”.
