South West : ELECAM Ascertains Readiness

Officials of the British High Commission were at the South West Regional Delegation of Elections Cameroon and took stock of its operations ahead of the Presidential election.

Some staff of the British High Commission to Cameroon were at the Regional Delegation of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), South West within the framework of a working visit where the Regional Delegate reaffirmed their readiness for the smooth holding of the Presidential election in the region. The delegation led by the Second Secretary Political Affairs, Lisa Jennians was at ELECAM South West in Buea on July 24, 2025, where they visited the institution’s digital centre and other operational units. It was an opportunity for the officials of the diplomatic mission to acquaint themselves with the security situation of the region. They also sought to know if registered persons are withdrawing their voter cards. 
South West ELECAM Delegate, Zofoa Njoya Sake, expressed gratitude to the British High Commission for their constant collaboration in election matters. He recalled that the United Nations recently organised a seminar for capacity building to encourage women participation in the electoral process in Ebolowa where the British High Commission played an important role. The objective of the workshop was to enhance ELECAM’s capacity to organise a peaceful, transparent and inclusive Presidential election in line with the legal framework of elections.
