West Region : Firefighter Brigade Acquire New Equipment

The West Regional firefighting brigade has acquired new firefighting equipment, that include firefighter vehicles, ambulance equipment vehicles, three pick-up intervention vehicles and one firefighter simulator vehicle, that is specially used to intervene in storey buildings that contain more than 10 floors.
This new equipment were presented to Governor Awa Fonka Augustine, of the West Region, by the Commander of the 50th Firefighter, Captain Zemba Kanga Eddy Frank on 30 July 2025 in Bafoussam, in a ceremony attended by military top officials, security authorities, mayors and quarter heads. 
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Awa Fonka said the new equipment are coming to reduce the much headaches, of late attendance to fire incidents by elements of the firefighting units during fire outbreaks, adding that the firefighting simulator vehicle, is a special complementary tool to assist the firefighter units to intervene on higher level storey buildings, a situation that did not exist before.
