2024 African Nations Championship : CAF Unveils Technical Study Group

Announced on August 3, 2025, the panel of experts is made up of respected coaches, former players, and instructors with a proven track record in African football and beyond.

Experts that will be assessing tactical trends, emerging talent, and coaching developments during the 2024 African Nations Championship ongoing in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda have been unveiled. They constitute members of the Technical Study Group (TSG) announced August 3, 2025 by the Confederation of African Football.
TSG is made up of respected coaches, former players, and instructors with a proven track record in African football and beyond. Senegal’s Pape Bouna Thiaw is among the standout members of this group. He led his country to CHAN glory in the previous edition held in Algeria. His Senegal side edged hosts Algeria in a dramatic penalty shootout in the final, with Thiaw later crowned Best Coach of the Tournament. Appointed as Senegal’s head coach in December 2024, Thiaw now returns to CHAN not as trainer but as the one who has the daunting task of analysing every aspect of play of the competition.  Several other big names are joining Thiaw in accomplishing this task.
