SDF: Joshua Osih Unveils Political Programme

The candidate of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) for the October Presidential election, Joshua Osih, has presented his political and socio-economic programme for the nation if voted Head of State on October 12, 2025. He was before the press on August 19, 2025 where he gave details of the programme and a view point on national issues. To him, the Presidential election should first and foremost be a debate about ideas, evidence and the ability to govern, with clear proposals, credible mechanisms for implementation and tangible results for citizens.  
Concerning the key points of the programme, he said the SDF will champion power to the people and enhance local finance through effective transfer of responsibilities and budgets to municipalities and regions. On peace and security, he announced a durable exit from crises through inclusive dialogue, disarmament and reintegration, genuine transitional justice, investment in local development, professionalization and parliamentary oversight. The Presidential candidate added that he will put in place a genuine universal health coverage system which will be progressively introduced from primary care to emergencies, rehabilitate district hospitals and enhance locally produced medicines. With regards to the State, Joshua Osih said they are proposing a three-tier federalism (municipalities-regions-federal) based on the principle of subsidiary; a semi-parliamentary system, and zero tolerance for corruption (asset disclosure, open public procurement, and reinforced Audit Courts).
