National Gendarmerie: Centre Legion Command Post Inaugurated

The ultra-modern structure was commissioned on June 20, 2025 by Brigadier General Toungue Elias, Commander of the First Gendarmerie Region.

The new Command Post of the Centre Gendarmerie Legion, located adjacent to the Reunification Monument has been commissioned. It was inaugurated on June 20, 2025 by the Commander of the First Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Tongue Elias, on behalf of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Galax Etouga. The inaugurated building is a threefloor structure that sits on a total surface area of 1,270 metres square. The ground floor contains four offices, one waiting and reception room, two male and female washrooms, an entrance porch and two stairwells. The first floor has ten offices while the second floor contains five offices, a meeting room with a capacity of 24 places. There is an ancillary building (one-storey), consisting of a stairwell, 20 offices and eight male and female washrooms. Architecturally, the modern two-storey building has a semi-circular shape, with the facades facing the Reunification Monument and the Atemengue Plateau. The building with its glazed façade is accessible via the forecourt and is surrounded by green spaces. The main courtyard, with a surface area of 2,000 metres square is graced with a flagpole for assembly. The colours chosen are in accordance with the National Gendarmerie’s corporate identity and style guide, which are grey and gold combined with white.
