Candidacy Papers : Effervescence Heightens

Ten Presidential aspirants as at July 17, 2025 had already handed their files at Elections Cameroon.

The political fever around the Presidential election is growing by the day, going by the increased number in the submission of files. Yesterday July 17 and Wednesday July 16, 2025 were busy days, both at the General Directorate of Elections Cameroon and some of its Regional Delegations, notably in the North West, East and South Regions. The aforementioned two days alone witnessed nine candidacy documents being submitted to the elections management body. The process which started timidly suddenly experiences greater effervescence. Looking back when the electors were convened on July 11, only one aspirant for the top job, in the person of Bertin Kisob, submitted his files on the ticket of the Cameroon Party for Social Justice, on Saturday 12, 2025. For three days (July 13-15), there was a somewhat blackout. And on July 16, 2025, the fizz in the political landscape began increasing. While some Presidential hopefuls personally submitted their documents, others had their representatives doing so for them. Either way, the law permits that. 
Statistics from Elections Cameroon indicate that the candidacy of the Akere Muna Tabeng put forth by the UNIVERS political party was first to be handed on Wednesday 16, 2025 at the Directorate General of ELECAM. Then came the documents of Eric Kamgan-Tan, for the Democratic Liberation for Republican Change in Cameroon, Jean Blaise Gwet, for the Patriotic Movement for Change in Cameroon and Jacques Bouhga Hagbe, Cameroon National Citizen Movement.  Meanwhile in the South Region, Genevieve Ze Amvene, submitted her documents at the South Regional Delegation of Elections Cameroon as an independent candidate. 
And on July 17, the electoral fever gained another steam. The day began with the candidacy of Ruben Djouro on the ticket of the National Party for Cameroonian Patriots.
