Buea : Attachments To Republican Values Showcased

Elements of defence and security forces and civilians crowned the 53rd edition of National Day at Bongo Square with march-past.

It was exactly 10: 50 am at the Bongo Square ceremonial ground on May 20, 2025, that the different elements of the defence and security forces filed passed dignitaries as they marked the 53rd edition of National Day. With arms in hands, their feet vibrated the tarmac, showing their readiness in defending the Fatherland. For 14 minutes, they showcased their prowess in combating insecurity, protecting civilians and their property, and safeguarding territorial boundaries. 
Pupils and students then followed in the same light with patriotic songs showing love for the nation. As they marched, they presented massages standing for national unity, obedience, fight against drug abuse and rejecting violent extremism, among others. Professional and vocational schools like Cameroon Opportunity and Industrialisation Centre (COIC) demonstrated their various trades such as pastries, mechanics, woodwork, agriculture which offer direct employment. Higher education institutions led by the University of Buea, turned out massively to mark the 53rd edition of the National Day. Political parties such as SDF and CPDM came out in their numbers and paid homage to the nation.
