African Kickboxing Championship : Cameroon Champions

Nine gold and eight silver was the medal harvest for the nation’s flagbearers during the competition that ended in Yaounde on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

The national anthem of Cameroon was song several times during closing of the 15th edition of the African Kickboxing Championship that ended at the Gymnasium of the National Advanced Public Works School in Yaounde on Saturday June 21, 2025. Organised by the Cameroon Kickboxing Federation in collaboration with the African Kickboxing Union, the com- petition brought together kick- boxers from six countries on the continent. They are Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Nigeria, Central African Republic and Cameroon.

Speaking at the closing, the Mi- nister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi congratulated the Cameroonian athletes for their bravery and show of sportsmanship. ?He also charged them to continue working hard so that they can defend Africa with pride. During the ceremony, homage was given to the President of the Cameroon Kick- boxing Federation who doubles as honorary president of the Confederation of African Kick- boxing, HRH Emmanuel Essissima by the President of the Confederation of African Kickboxing, Aslam Mahomed for his contribution to the development of kickboxing as high level athlete and emeritus sports manager. The 14 Cameroonian flagbearers won a total of 17 medals; nine gold and eight silver. Team Nigeria grabbed the second position on the general classification table with four medals; three gold and one bronze.
